Coach/Staff bio

Laura was a four-year letter winner at Centerburg High School competing in Volleyball and Basketball.  She was named Second Team-All Conference her sophomore year. During her junior year she earned.  First Team-All Conference and Conference Player of the Year, First Team-All District and District Player of the Year and was named Second Team All-State. Wrapping up her High School Career with an 89-1 in Mid-Buckeye Conference record,  she again earned Conference and District Player of the Year and First Team All-Conference, District and State. She participated in the District and State All-Star matches.  Laura played for Matchpoint Volleyball under Coach Jim Stone and Kaepa Buckeye.

Laura earned a scholarship to Troy University where she played four years. Her senior year she was named co-captain, although multiple injuries and a major shoulder surgery kept her off the court most of the season, the Trojans qualified for their first Sun Belt Conference Championships since 2005.

After leaving Troy, Laura went to Lincoln Memorial University, a NCAA Division II program in Harrogate, TN where she was the Assistant Coach for one season. During the 2012 season the Lady Railsplitter’s qualified for Regionals of the NCAA Championship for the fifth time in school history.  Laura has 10 years of experience coaching club and has coached at Montgomery Catholic Preparatory School and Murphy High School and is currently an assistant coach at McGill-Toolen Catholic High School.

As the Recruiting Coordinator, Laura guides our LAV players through the athlete-driven process of finding the right fit to play collegiate volleyball and connects with coaches to get LAV athletes recruited at all levels.  In 2023, all players from 18 National Black who wanted to play collegiate volleyball were able to do so (from schools like Queen’s University, South Alabama, Blue Mountain, Pensacola State, University of Mobile, Huntingdon College), and she also helped guide multiple underclassman in the process for future collegiate commitments (University of New Orleans, Tulane and Auburn University).

Laura is a huge part of our success in our club as our recruiting coordinator.  Her organization, thoroughness, and interpersonal skills make her the perfect fit!

She is married to her wonderful husband Nathan and has two beautiful daughters Mia and Maikka
