Yolanda Owens, a Flint, Michigan native is a former 2 sport athlete of Flint Northern. After high school, she attended Spring Arbor University where she received her Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Sports and Science. Throughout her four-year undergraduate studies, she actively participated in athletics. She received athlete of the week recognition and a host of other honors during that time. Yolanda has remained a lifelong learner. She has obtained a Master of Arts degree in Elementary Education from the University of Phoenix and an Educational Specialist degree in Teacher Leadership from

Yolanda has lived in Mobile, AL with her husband Aaron, daughter Aaronda and late son AJ since 2006. Yolanda and Aaron are empty nesters as their daughter, a 2023 graduate of Southern Mississippi University, currently resides in Austin, TX.

Yolanda is an educator at Phillips Preparatory Middle School. She continues to foster her love of sports as the head volleyball coach of the lady pirates. She is currently in her 8th year leading the lady pirates to a successful season.  Yolanda is a very passionate coach and can’t wait to lead and guide our players!
