Carly Dougherty was born and raised in Mobile Alabama. She graduated from Murphy High school where she played varsity three years and was Female Athlete of the Year. She continued playing at Jefferson Davis Community College and graduated from South Alabama with her undergrad and masters in Physical education. She currently teaches PE at Baker High School and is the Head Varsity Coach. Under Coach Dougherty, Baker has three back to back area championship wins, three super regional appearances, and three elite eight finish in the state. She was the former coach at Causey Middle where she has won the middle school division two years in a row, and in 2020 they won the Mobile County Championship. Carly began coaching club volleyball in 2011. She has coached ages 13s all the way to 17s, and has finished in the top finish at Big South twice, top 9 at Colorado Crossroads, top 5 USAV Nationals finish, and won the Gulf Coast Region. In 2024, Carly coached the 13 National Black team and won the SVT Invitational, was runner-up at the Music City Qualifier and won the Gulf Coast Region. She has been able to work under some of the best coaches in this area. This will be her ninth season working with LAV.
